I was not surprised to find that I very much liked "Sherlock," because it was recommended to me by a friend who knows me very well. I was surprised, however, to learn that Benedict Cumberbatch has now been confirmed as the voice of Smaug in the upcoming "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." So, this...
...is going to be the voice of this...
And I'm not sure if it's coincidence or not, but Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson) is going to be in the role of Bilbo Baggins, so it is fun for a Hobbit fan to see the two actors side-by-side. We won't technically be seeing Mr. Cumberbatch in Peter Jackson's film, but he will fully portray Smaug through motion capture technology, and that is very exciting, since I'm not sure that's ever been done before with a dragon - certainly not this dragon, who is very important to Tolkien fans. :)
If you haven't seen "The Hobbit" trailer yet, you need to take a look:
How have I not shared Sherlock with you yet? I own the first season! Season 2 comes out in May!
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I'm on board now! The end of Season 1, by the way - that was cruel. Just plain cruel. Cannot wait for Season 2!
